The terrorist al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front in Lebanon group claimed the bomb attack that rocked Beirut's southern suburb on Tuesday, killing 3 people at least and wounding around 45 others, medical sources reported.
"We have responded to the massacres carried out by the party of Iran... in their backyard in the southern suburbs," the terrorist group said in a statement posted on its Twitter account.
The suicide car bomb exploded in southern Beirut bastion on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. local time.
The same street was targeted by a suicide car bombing in earlier in January that also killed five civilians.
Al-Manar TV had reported that the blast was due to a suicide bomber in a booby trapped white Kia with the license plate G347527 exploded.
The fire engulfed several cars and gutted the facade of a residential building in the busy al-Arid commercial street.
