Qahwaji: LA’s Main Mission Dismantling Terrorist Cells

The Lebanese Army Chief, General Jean Qahwaji, asserted that the main mission of the Lebanese army is to fight terrorism, dismantle the terrorist cells, and hand the culprits to the competent court.
"The essential duty entrusted with the army months ago was fighting terrorism, dismantling terrorist cells, bringing all culprits to justice and enhancing the policy of fighting corruption," stated Qahwaji.

The army official addressed on Friday military officers to totally keep away from politics and never think of serving any political party or figure, hence sticking mainly and solely to the military command.
Qahwaji held a series of meetings with all military officers of various ranks, in the context of an annual gathering that take place with the start of every new year.
He further congratulated the officers for their restless efforts to anchor security, combat terrorism and every sort of unrest, and implement the UN Security Council resolution 1701 in cooperation with the UNIFIL.
