"Israeli" settlers on Monday punctured the tires of 16 cars and a bus in the East al-Quds neighborhood of Silwan, local residents said.

Samir Shaloudi stated that residents woke up to find dozens of private vehicles and a bus vandalized.
Hebrew graffiti sprayed on the bus read: "Enough of assimilation".

The cars belonged to the Badwai, Abu Khatir, Shaloudi, Awwad, Maragha, al-Razim, and Manasrah families.
Residents called the "Israeli" police, who arrived on the scene and opened an investigation.
Muhammad Qarain, who works for the Silwan-based Wadi Hilweh Information Center, said that the settlers came from an illegal outpost on the outskirts of the Jabal al-Mukabbir neighborhood.

Settler attacks against Palestinians and their property are routine in the occupied West Bank and East al-Quds.
In 2012, there were 353 incidents of settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Over 90 percent of investigations into settler violence by "Israeli" police fail to lead to an indictment.
