Imam Khamenei Urges Conservation of Green Space

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei urged the Iranian people to attach high importance to the protection of green space.
The Leader made the remarks on Wednesday during a ceremony held in Tehran to commemorate National Natural Resources Week.
"I want officials and the people to attach importance to the issue of green space and not allow the country to become deprived of this great gift from God," he said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Imam Khamenei underlined the need for greater resolve to deal with the issue of dust storms.
He further stated that all governmental departments should cooperate harmoniously in this regard and take the measures necessary to tackle the issue.
During the ceremony, Imam Khamenei also planted one sapling.
Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Agricultural Jihad Minister Mahmoud Hojjati attended the ceremony.
Similarly, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani planted a sapling on Thursday.
The symbolic move was made on the occasion of Natural Resources and Tree Week.
The National Tree Week is an annual celebration in which Iranians try to expand their local green space.
