Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil emphasized Lebanon's right to liberate its territories from "Israeli" occupation, and to defend itself in the attempt of any "Israeli" aggression against it at the Arab League summit in Cairo on Sunday.
In his first address at the Arab League summit in his new position, Bassil summoned the Arab states to help Lebanon with the overwhelming number of Syrian refugees in the country, and to assist it in order to fight terrorism within the region by funding the Army.
"Lebanon has the right to liberate the Shebaa Farms, Kfarshouba Hills and the Lebanese sector of Ghajar, and to resist any "Israeli" aggression or occupation with all available and legitimate means. It is a right that no one in the Arab community has any interest in abandoning," stated Bassil.
He also addressed the danger that the rise of extremist groups in Lebanon posed, mentioning that such an issue threatens the entire Arab world.
"What will become of the Arab world if its cultural door to the West- Lebanon- becomes a passageway for those who seek to destroy all cultures?" he said.
