EU Expresses Willingness to Enhance Ties with Iran

The EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton expressed the bloc's willingness to further economic and cultural relations with Iran in a meeting with the governor general of Iran's central province of Isfahan Rasoul Zargarpour on Monday.
EU Expresses Willingness to Enhance Ties with IranAshton also expressed that the recent discussions between the EU officials and Iran are an indication that, "If the negotiations are successful, more progress will be made as well."

Remarking his determination to come to an agreement, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, "We can do it in four or five months, and even shorter."
Ashton had recently arrived to Tehran last week and held discussions with senior Iranian officials.

The next round of talks over Iran's nuclear program will take place in Vienna on March 17.

Iran and the P5+1 countries have been holding talks following the nuclear agreement which was reached on November 24, 2013 in Geneva. The countries are attempting to work out a comprehensive deal over Iran's nuclear program and to loosen the sanctions imposed on Iran.
