Lebanese Parliament Adjourns 2nd Round to Elect New President

Local Editor
Lebanon's Parliament adjourned the 2nd round of presidential election after lawmakers failed to secure quorum, as the Daily Star reported on Wednesday.
Only 76 MPs were present in the General Assembly hall by 12 pm, prompting Berri to delay the start by half an hour in order to allow more time for lawmakers to arrive.
Wednesday's election is the second after a parliamentary session was adjourned last week over lack of quorum, with Lebanese Forces candidate Samir Geagea failing to win two-thirds majority.
Berri scheduled the third round of voting for May 7.
