Two suspects have been sentenced to death in Lebanon for belonging to the so-called "al-Nusra Front" militant group, as the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Lebanese Military Tribunal Judge Imad al-Zein demanded the penalty against Syrian detainee Mahmoud al-Kaaki and Palestinian fugitive Ahmed Taha.

A booby-trapped Chevrolet pickup truck without license plates was discovered parked in front of Kaaki's residence in the Bekaa region of Arsal. An explosives belt was also found at his house.

The two suspects were charged with preparing to carry out terrorist attacks and car bombings.

Zein issued arrest warrants against Kaaki and Taha and search warrants against four of their accomplices.

Zein demanded in an indictment issued on Tuesday death penalty to the two suspects over the crime of belonging to "al-Nusra Front."
