Hamas Warns ’Israel’ of Foolish Ground Offensive: You’ll Pay Heavy Price

"Israel" started its ground offensive on Gaza. Directly after the announcement, the Palestinian Resistance in the sieged strip warned the Zionist entity that the step would have "dreadful consequences".

"It does not scare the Hamas leaders or the Palestinian people," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said Thursday night. "We warn Netanyahu ["Israeli" Prime Minister Binyamin] of the dreadful consequences of such a foolish act."

Moreover, Hamas said in the statement that it would continue to reject any initiative for a ceasefire as long as its conditions are not met.

Abu Zuhri added that "Israel" may think that its operation is limited, but it is mistaken.

Similarly, the groups' official Fawzi Barhoum told CNN that "the beginning of the "Israeli" ground invasion of Gaza is a dangerous step with unknown consequences. "Israel" will pay a heavy price for it."

Later, appearing on Aqsa TV, Barhoum said, "the resistance will confront the "Israeli" ground invasion and will defend the people of Gaza."

He confirmed that Hamas military forces are "far stronger" than during previous conflicts with "Israel" in 2009 and 2012.

"Militants are prepared to capture "Israel" soldiers and use them to trade for some of the 5,000 prisoners in "Israeli" jails," Barhoum added.
