The "Israeli" regime's aircrafts have carried out airstrikes across seized Gaza shortly after a new ceasefire brokered by Egypt came into effect, officials said.

’Israel’ Violates Recent Gaza Ceasefire, Carries Out Further Airstrikes

An official at the Palestinian interior ministry reported four airstrikes over open ground about 30 minutes into the extension of a new truce early Thursday, which the Palestinians announced would last for five days.

The "Israeli" regime claimed the attacks were launched in response to rockets fired from the seized Gaza Strip.

Earlier in the day, "Israeli" media claimed that the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, violated the truce by firing several rockets into "Israel," an allegation Hamas denied.
Later, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum reacted to "Israel's" new airstrikes, saying the regime would suffer from the consequences.

The strikes hit several places in seized Gaza, including Khan Yunis in the south.
Furthermore, Chief Palestinian negotiator Azzam al-Ahmed confirmed the cease-fire would last for five days, unlike two previous 72-hour lulls.

"There is an agreement on many points regarding lifting the siege," he said of a key Palestinian demand to end an eight-year "Israeli" blockade of seized Gaza.

The negotiators needed more time to settle some remaining disputes, he told reporters.

The joint Palestinian delegation in Cairo will leave on Thursday to consult with their leaderships, he added.

The truce was extended for five more days in seized Gaza as "Israeli" and Palestinian negotiators continued talks to reach a long-term deal in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.

"Israel" and the Palestinians agreed to extend a Gaza truce by five days on Wednesday, just minutes before it was to expire at midnight.

"Israel" has been carrying out incessant airstrikes on the blockaded Gaza Strip since July 8.

Nearly 1,960 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been martyred and at least 10,100 have been injured despite pressure from the international community on the "Israeli" regime to end the military aggression.
