’Israeli’ Forces Continue to Raid Al-Aqsa Mosque, Clash with Palestinians
Local Editor
Hundreds of "Israeli" police raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Monday, leading to clashes with Palestinian worshipers, witnesses said.
"Israeli" Deputy Knesset Speaker Moshe Feiglin also forced his way into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East al-Quds under heavy protection by the
"Israeli" police amid clashes between the Zionist troops and Palestinians worshippers inside the holy complex.
"Israeli" forces fired stun grenades, tear gas canisters
and rubber-coated steel bullets at Palestinians in the holy site during
the clashes.
Witnesses said "Israeli" forces raided the site at 6 a.m. following morning prayers.
During the clashes also, a fire broke out on carpets near the eastern gate of the compound, Al-Aqsa guards said, as youths and police faced off outside the mosque.
Furthermore, "Israeli" forces also assaulted Aqsa mosque guards during the raids and detained Nihad Zghayr and an unidentified Palestinian teen.
Palestinian men under 50 and all women were denied access to the holy site for the Jewish holiday, and clashes broke out at the Hatta and Council Gates as Palestinians were turned away from the mosque.
Also on Wednesday, over 60 "Israeli" settlers forced their way into Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East al-Quds under the protection of "Israeli" police after the latter forcibly removed Muslim worshipers from the holy site, injuring dozens, a Palestinian official said.
"Israel" claims all of occupied al-Quds as its "eternal, undivided capital" as it continues to occupy the Palestinian land.
