A mosque was set on fire and vandalized on early Tuesday morning in the Kfar Akraba south of Nablus in the West Bank in a suspected price tag attack by Zionist settlers.

Palestinian Mosque Torched in West Bank ’Price Tag’ Attack"A number of settlers broke the doors and the windows of the Abu Baher a-Sadik mosque in the village, spray painted graffiti, and then lit the mosque on fire," Rasan Daglas, a Palestinian Authority representative said.

He further added: "This is a continuation of the settler violence against Muslim and Christian holy places. "

Eyewitnesses said that local Palestinian residents who saw the vandals chased the settlers away and extinguished the fire.

This comes as the vandals also smashed the window of the mosque and threw in flammable material.

Graffiti was found on the outside wall of the mosque reading: Price tag, Tapuah is Kahane. Tapuah is an "Israeli" settlement in the northern West Bank, and Kahane refers to a Zionist settler leader who died in 1990.

Prior to the attack, Palestinian in the village discovered that dozens of their mature olive trees had been felled in a suspected "price tag" attack. Hebrew graffiti was sprayed on nearby rocks.

In recent years, the harvest season in the West Bank has become period of continuous "Israeli" aggression, during which numerous hate crimes are committed.

Meanwhile, another 15 olive trees were found to have been vandalized in the nearby village of Burin. Olives had also been stripped from the trees, the residents of the village said.
