Syrian Army Regains Shaer Gas Field from ’ISIL’

The Syrian army recaptured the Shaer gas field in central Homs from the so-called "Daesh" ["ISIL"] extremist group on Thursday, state television reported.

The forces had recaptured the field and the surrounding area, state television said, citing a military source.

The Syrian army had recaptured on Wednesday two additional gas fields in the province as well as a gas company.

Parts of the Shaer gas field fell under the control of "Daesh" last week, after an assault by the extremist organization.
