"Israeli" forces on Wednesday detained an eight-year-old Palestinian in the Silwan neighborhood of Occupied east al-Quds, a local information center said, a day after a 12-year-old Palestinian boy was detained.
Majdi Abbasi of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center said in a statement that Obeida Ayesh, eight, was arrested in the Ein al-Lawza area of the neighborhood.
Obeida's mother was allowed to accompany him, Abbasi said.
There were no clashes going on in the area at the time of the arrest, he added.
Late Tuesday, "Israeli" troops assaulted 12-year-old Mohammed Abdul-Salam Abdo while he was standing in front of his family home in the East al-Quds neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukabbir.
After the assault, Abdo was taken to an "Israeli" police station in Jabal al-Mukabbir for interrogation. His mother said she tried to escort him during interrogation, but the soldiers didn't allow her.
More than 10,000 Palestinian minors in the occupied West Bank and Occupied al-Quds have been held by the "Israeli" army for varying periods since 2000.
At least 600 Palestinian children have been arrested in Occupied al-Quds alone since last June.
