Hizbullah Secretary-General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's political aide Haj Hussein Khalil stressed on Tuesday that the party has been holding onto its stances for the past three years.
In an interview with al-Akhbar Lebanese daily, al-Khalil mentioned: "Our hand is always extended to our partners in the country."
He further highlighted that "Together in partnership with outstretched hands policy is still valid."
He pointed out that the Hizbullah is holding onto dialogue to resolve the political crises in the country, noting that it rejects any act of boycott.
"We are heading for talks [with the Future Movement] and we have nothing to be ashamed of," al-Khalil confirmed.
The Hizbullah top official also mentioned that the four-point agenda agreed on includes defusing sectarian tension and political rhetoric, fighting terrorism, activating the work of state institutions and facilitating the election of a new president for Lebanon.
"There's no escape. We have to sit down and talk," he stated.
Al-Khalil also added that the party will engage in dialogue to bridge the gap and reach common grounds, and "if reaching solutions fails, then at least we could organize our differences."
"In Hizbullah's opinion the presidential election issue is the easiest," he said.
Al-Khalil also emphasized that "Hizbullah candidate is Gen Michel Aoun and we are committed to him."
"Anyone who has a different opinion should go and speak with the general [Aoun]."
