Resistance: To Golan Go
The "Israeli" aggression that took place in the Golan's Qunaitra; which targeted fighters of the Islamic Resistance still occupied the headlines of newspapers for the third day in a row. Lebanese newspapers reflected on the "Israeli" fear revealed by Zionist media, awaiting the reaction of Hizbullah probably via a sudden operation which has put the "Israeli" army on utmost alert.
As-Safir newspaper wrote that "the resistance leadership and its people continued the processions to lay their martyrs who fell in the Qunaitra aggression to their final rest place." Meanwhile, the paper noted that "Israeli" papers reflected the fear spreading among the Zionist leadership and settlers, amid the silence of Hizbullah which keeps all response options open.
As-Safir quoted Reuters sources, as saying that "Israel" broke its silence on the matter when an "Israeli" army official told Reuters that the "Israeli" army in fact carried out the raid near the Qunaitra region, and that "Israel" did not know the Iranian Revolutionary Guard official was in the region!
As-Safir further quoted the "Israeli" general as saying "We did not expect such a result in the nature of the personals in the convoy, surely not the Iranian official, we thought we are targeting a normal field convoy of the enemy that was about to execute an operation at the borders. We received a warning, observed that the car was of the enemy and that is why we fired a missile. This was a limited tactic operation."
According to the paper, there are two readings to the "Israeli" stance. First, it might be a big lie to cover up for the crime, especially in light of the intelligence capabilities of the Zionist enemy which is for sure able to know who was in the convoy. By that, "Israel" would have delivered a message to Hizbullah, Syria and Iran at once but then sensed the seriousness of the situation in light of the talk about an inevitable response from Hizbullah.
The second reading implies that the "Israeli" enemy did not know who was in the convoy, and that it directly concluded it belonged to Hizbullah and therefore in a swift reaction targeted it through a raid, and therefore "Israel" broke the silence to clarify what had happened in order to limit the response of the Resistance and put Iran at ease, especially after it threatened that the reaction will be harsh.
on a related note, during the funeral procession of one of the martyrs in South Lebanon [Martyr Ali Hassan Ibrahim] on Tuesday, ad-Diyar quoted Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc member MP Nawaf Moussawi stressing that "the Resistance is at its utmost readiness to deal with the enemy especially on the backdrop of the assassination," adding that in the "Israeli" mind, "the crime took place right before the elections in the "Israeli" entity with the aggression to be exploited as an accomplishment that would cover up for all its earlier losses."
Meanwhile, an-Nahar newspaper highlighted the Iranian stance, quoting Jaafari's threat to the Zionist entity of a devastating storm after the "Israeli" aerial assault on the Resistance's convoy in Syria's Qunaitra.
The paper quoted the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRCG] Mohammad Ali Jaafari as saying "Israel must await a devastating storm after its crime in Qunaitra. The Zionists sensed our rage earlier, and Qunaitra's crime emphasizes the necessity of sticking to Jihad."
On another note, an-Nahar followed up on the security plan that kicked off slowly and steadily in the Bekaa valley, underscoring that Hizbullah and Amal have been providing political cover for the plan to keep going. The paper quoted security sources that "the plan was postponed for a while due to the Qunaitra "Israeli" aggression and its repercussions."
Ministerial sources also told the paper that the procrastination was only for 24 hours, where the plan kicked off silently where all apparatuses and parties in the country are cooperating to make it succeed.
Al-Akhbar newspaper for its part cited Syrian military sources that Qassem Suleimani, commander-in-chief of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' elite al-Quds Brigades, was in Damascus ten days ago on his way to Beirut, where he met with officials of the Hizbullah leadership. It also noted that amid such advancement which coincided with the progress in the nuclear talks between Iran and the West, "Israel" aimed at hampering the process.
