"Israel" announced it would purchase an additional 14 next-generation F-35 fighter jets for approximately US $3billion as it sought to consolidate air superiority in the region.

US to Arm ’Israel’ with 14 Warplanes

The deal added to the fleet of 19 US-made jets already purchased in 2010. According to the "Israeli" army and the deal with Lockheed Martin included an option for 17 more in the future.

The first deliveries of the futuristic fighter jet were to be made in 2016.
The F-35 program was the Pentagon's most expensive arms development project, with an estimated cost of nearly $400-billion.

It sought to replace a wide range of existing aircraft for the US and several partner countries, including the United Kingdom.

The stealth jet also known as the Joint Strike Fighter, was to replace the Zionist state's fleet of F-16 fighter jets and maintain its aerial dominance in the region.
The decision of the additional 14 warplanes came amid objection from so-called Minister of Intelligence Yuval Steinitz and Minister of Agriculture Yair Shamir, who said 36 jets were enough, and cited incessant problems in the production of the F-35 fighter jet.

The "Israeli" war establishment, on the other hand, claimed that 36 jets would not be enough to allow the Air Force to continue increasing its abilities for long-range operations and dealing with the challenges in the Middle East.

Furthermore, the establishment claimed that the decision to purchase 50 jets would improve relations with the US.
Hence, the jets would be purchased using American military aid money. The United States provided "Israel" with some $8.5 million in military aid per day, adding up to over $3 billion annually.

The US military aid to the Zionist entity had prompted several demonstrations across the country against such deals.

American protesters argued that the US taxpayer money was used for more "Israeli" aggression against Palestinians.
