US navy officials said that two warships deployed off the Lebanese coast were replaced in the past 24 hours.
"The USS Cole and a fuel-tank provider were replaced by the USS Ross and the Villepin C warships," officials said.
They added that three warships remain in the region but cannot be seen from the Lebanese shore.
"Their presence is to send a message to Syria and other countries in the region about US commitment to the stability of the area," they added.
