Bazzi confirms Berri willingness to elect a president
Bazzi confirms Berri's willingness to elect a president
Source: NowLebanon, 05-03-2008
On behalf of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Development and Liberation bloc MP Ali Bazzi responded to MP Antoine Andraous by stating "for the thousandth time" that parliament doors are open to the election of a president.
"Proof lies in the 15 invitations to elections since September 25, 2007," Bazzi added. He accused the parliamentary majority of "hegemony over land, sea and air... in order to ensure the tribunal."
Earlier today, MP Antoine Andraous said that Berri placed the blame for the failure of the Arab initiative on MP Saad Hariri and 'March (Feb.) 14'. Andraous also challenged Berri's credibility.
Bazzi also said that the Siniora cabinet was "unconstitutional and illegitimate."
