Hizbullah's Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem accused on Thursday the ruling bloc (February 14) of rejecting the Arab initiative and placing Lebanon under American tutelage. He once again warned 'Israel' the blood of Islamic Resistance top commander Imad Moghniyeh won't go to waste.
Sheikh Qassem was speaking in a ceremony organized by Hizbullah's women commission in the Islamic Resistance Support Institution in the southern suburb of Beirut. His eminence said the ruling bloc was not ready to elect a president on the 11th of March because it doesn't really want a solution to the ongoing crisis. "The American administration seeks to keep the unconstitutional government of Fouad Saniora in power" Sheikh Qassem said adding that the US Administration believes Saniora's government is the best US hand in Lebanon.
Commenting on deploying American warships off Lebanon's coast, the deputy secretary general said Americans were working on three main goals. "First, it wants it to be a show of force because the ruling bloc has no legal or political legitimacy to take anything in Lebanon; they are trying to change this fact by providing them with force. Second, because their proxies in Lebanon have failed to accomplish anything, they decided to have direct presence here to start their project in Lebanon. Third, the US doesn't want any solution based on partnership. Washington wants Saniora's government to remain in power not until the 2009 legislative elections, but for years to come."
Sheikh Qassem stressed the Islamic Resistance "will remain on the defensive no matter how much 'Israel" increases its strength and no matter how much the US tries to frighten us with its force." "The procession will continue. Israelis will discover that the burden of (Martyr Imad) Moghniyeh's blood is heavier than they can handle. The resistance will remain strong and honorable. Whoever wants to try his luck again can give it a try. It will be his problem. We don't want to initiate anything but we will not yield to resolutions that can destroy Lebanon," he said.
On Palestine, Sheikh Qassem stressed the importance of armed resistance to find a solution to the issue. "We support you even if the whole world opposes you. We are with you, noble Palestinians who honored us. We are with Palestine, the whole and complete Palestine," he pointed out.
