’Israel’s’ Segregation Scheme: Racist and Intolerable
Local Editor
The Zionist entity recently launched a controversial pilot program preventing thousands of Palestinians from riding the same buses as "Israelis" to achieve "better control of the Palestinians."
Although the shameful and racist action was reversed hours later following the outrage it deserved, it could still become law, raising another specter from the last century, which first gained a name not in South Africa but the Balkans: ethnic cleansing.
Zionist War Minister Moshe Ya'alon had proposed a similar move last October. This one called for Palestinians from the occupied West Bank working in the occupied territories to enter and leave through the same checkpoint, forcing them to take circuitous routes on strictly Palestinian buses.
Further, Ya'alon claimed it would reduce security risks. This was while the radical upstarts of Zionist security forces had said those Palestinians, who already have work papers and spend their workday in the occupied territories anyway, pose no risk at all.
However, the idea behind this criminal proposal tells us everything we need to know about the racist "Israeli" mindset. Zionist leaders are so paranoid that they even claim "Arab travel on buses is a victory over the Jewish occupier. It gives them the experience of traveling with Jewish women."
It's all about a racist regime that is all settlers and nothing else. Little wonder the international civil society had been quick to swiftly condemn the "shameful and racist measure that brings "Israel" to a new low moral point."
Moreover, past experiences from South Africa show that separating Palestinians and Zionist settlers on public transport is a warrantless humiliation and a stain on the regime and its like-minded perpetrators.
Though, Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might take comfort in the fact that he had been quick to freeze the unacceptable plan, but he could not deny the fact that "Israel's" apartheid measures against Palestinians had been in place for decades and that they have drawn international condemnation.
Under the Zionist government's racist system of occupation and segregation that had been in place for decades, there's already an Apartheid Wall, Apartheid Economy, Apartheid Justice System and Apartheid Land Theft and Distribution. Why not buses?
To put it clearly, separate buses for "Israelis" and Palestinians proved that the Zionist "democracy" and occupation could not co-exist and/or cannot build a "rainbow" nation. We don't need to look at Tel Aviv's new measure to lament the gap between that dream and the stained reality in occupied Palestine.
Whatever the adjective in front of the noun, forcible segregation is criminal and unjust. Whether you keep blacks from whites or Zionist settlers from Palestinians, then you are tolerating apartheid.
By definition, segregation is alien to the 21st century way of life, and intolerable. The international civil society should never let Tel Aviv's new segregation practice - in any form and under any pretext - pass unopposed.
