Lebanese newspapers on Wednesday discussed different topics, focusing on the confrontation of the resistance fighters to the failing attacks carried out by the ISIL terrorist groups against the barren lands between Ras Baalbeck and Qa'a.
The Lebanese Resistance fighters repelled on Tuesday an attack by militants of the takfiri group, ISIL, in the barrens of Ras Baalbek. The attack took place at dawn, when the extremist groups tried to penetrate the defenses of the resistance in the area.
Al-Akhbar newspaper said that the terrorist attacks of the ISIL takfiri group on Hizbullah posts at the Ras Baalbeck area accelerated in the resistance attack which was to be carried out with the Syrian army to repel the terrorist groups from the region.
Severe clashes erupted after the terrorists attacked several posts belonging to the resistance in Qarnat al-Samarmar and Qarnat al-Mathbaha in Ras Baalbek barrens, while the resistance fighters killed and injured dozens of the terrorists and destroyed two vehicles, al-Manar had reported earlier on Tuesday.
Later, the Resistance fighters managed to destroy five vehicles, a bulldozer and a number of motorcycles for ISIL, killing and injuring scores of terrorists and capturing 14 of their corpses.
In addition, sources well-informed of the military status in the barren lands of Arsal told al-Binaa newspaper that "the battle now is against ISIL, known by the Arabic acronym Daesh, which tried to launch an attack against the resistance, yet the resistance was ready to repel it."
The source anticipated that the entire area of the Arsal outskirts would be liberated before the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan, in a period of one week. Yet, the source assured that Hizbullah and its Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah have no intentions at all of entering the Lebanese town of Arsal.
Furthermore, the source warned that if the Lebanese army does not take charge and enter Arsal, groups associated to the resistance will surprise everyone and return Arsal to its people.
As for the battles with the al-Qaeda affiliated group, al-Nusra front, the source underscored that the battle has come to an end, and that the statements of al-Nusra leader Abu Malek Talli aims at dragging the families of the abducted soldiers who have been in the custody of the terrorist group for months into a situation where they provide an exit to the group.
The source also told the Lebanese daily that "the battle with Daesh has started;" assuring that "A decision was made by Hizbullah leader Sayyed Nasrallah to cleanse the entire region and prevent any terrorists from entering the region."
