MP Nabil Nicolas of the Change and Reform bloc said he doubts the situation in Lebanon will be a priority at the upcoming Arab Summit. Instead, Nicolas said, the search for an Arab-Arab agreement, for a solution to the issue of Palestinian naturalization and settlement, and the events in Gaza would be the top priority.
"Lebanon will not be active at the summit, even if represented by a president," the MP said.
"The Free Patriotic Movement and opposition parties abided by the Memorandum of Understanding created two years ago, while those who call themselves the pro-government forces did not bother to read it," Nicolas commented on the launch of "Spring 2008" by the March 14 forces.
MP Nicolas also responded to MP Walid Jumblatt, head of the Democratic Gathering bloc. "Jumblatt knows well that the beginning of a solution to the crisis in Lebanon is a fair electoral law that is not tailored to Jumblatt."
Nicolas said Jumblatt would win no seats unless the 2000 electoral law, also known as the Ghazi Kanaan law, is adopted.
