Head of the Democratic Party Talal Arslan stated that Army Commander General Michel Suleiman and Army Intelligence Services Director Major General George Khoury, who Arslan said had ambitions of heading the army at all costs, should stay out of internal Druze affairs.
After receiving the Free Patriotic Movement Political Relations officer Gebran Bassil, Arslan said there was a "red line" which should be maintained. "We must respect the privacy of the Druze sect."
"No one has the right to engage in the affairs of the Druze. We will not allow this before he becomes president, nor will we allow this if he becomes president," Arslan said.
