A spokesman for the Zionist opposition chief, Isaac Herzog, said the center-left lawmaker will travel to Washington to discuss "Israel's" concerns over the Iranian nuclear deal.

There is widespread objection in the Zionist Entity to the deal. It was also a heavy blow to "Israeli" PM Benjamin Netanyahu who spent years trying to prevent it.

Voicing his disappointment over the deal at a Knesset press conference, Herzog said he had been in talks with AIPAC and other bodies in the US and that he intended to fly there as soon as possible to "clarify the nature of the risks stemming from the agreement to "Israel"."

Furthermore, Herzog's spokesman Ofer Newman said, the lawmaker will "explain what the problem is with the agreement" and discuss its security implications.

Herzog had blamed Netanyahu for the nuclear deal but in a meeting with the prime minister late Tuesday, he enlisted "to do everything for the security of "Israel", according to a statement from Netanyahu's office.

However, Newman didn't elaborate on the timing of Herzog's trip or who he will meet.

Nonetheless, War Minister Ehud Barak alleged that the agreement gives legitimacy to Iran to become a nuclear threshold state. "It allows the Iranians to subsidize terror and removes them from the noose of sanctions. It is fair to say that it will allow Iran to follow North Korea to become a nuclear power," he added.

Earlier, Netanyahu considered the Iranian nuclear deal announced by the United States and world powers "a historic mistake" that frees Iran to sponsor global terrorism while assembling the expertise to build a nuclear bomb.

"Iran is going to receive a sure path to nuclear weapons," Bibi said. "Many of the restrictions that were supposed to prevent it from getting there will be lifted."
