A Syrian delegation delivered today President Bashar Assad's invitation to Lebanon to attend the Arab Summit in Damascus on March 29-30. Syria's deputy foreign minister Ahmed Arnous handed over the invitation to Lebanese resigned Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh. On Wednesday, the loyalty bloc urged Salloukh not to receive the invitation. The ministerial bloc of Fouad Seniora will later decide on the participation in the summit 'after deliberations with some Arab states.'
Seniora is currently in Senegal attending the Organization of Islamic Conference summit, where he failed to torpedo an Arab initiative to solve the ongoing political crisis in Lebanon.
