MP Skaff Demands Records of Last Four-Party Meeting be Released
Source: Nowlebanon.com, March 14, 2008
MP Elias Skaff of the Popular Bloc accused the majority of lying and demanded that the records of the last four-party meeting be made public.
"In the second meeting, MP Saad Hariri blew away everything that was agreed upon in the first meeting," Skaff said.
"The opposition will not give the presidency to the majority if the president is not as powerful as the parliament speaker and the prime minister," he told the Kuwaiti daily As-Seyassah.
Skaff accused former President Amin Gemayel of trying to settle scores with the Armenian community because it did not vote for him in the Metn by-elections.
"I suggest that every sect elect its representatives," he said.
Skaff warned that if Palestinians in Lebanon are naturalized, Christians will become a minority.
"Hizbullah Secretary General Nasrallah's statement about an open war against 'Israel' is a measure of self-defense, as 'Israel' assassinated a party leader," he said.
Skaff also said he does not follow the Patriarch. "We don't agree with him over his recent decisions."
