General Aoun says Government Transferred Lebanon from Anjar to Aoukar
Source: Nowlebanon.com, March 13, 2008
President of the Change and Reform bloc MP General Michel Aoun said that foreign alliances and personal interests, rather than the interests of the Lebanese people, were what joined the leaders of the March 14 forces.
In an interview with Al-Manar, Aoun said the principles that brought March 14 together were opportunistic and could not be reconciled with the political work necessary to a group.
"We feel that what we thought we had achieved was illusory, for sovereignty and freedom and independence have not returned to Lebanon," Aoun added. "To them, March 14 is a demonstration. But to us it is the march of life."
Aoun concluded with the idea that the ruling forces transferred guardianship over Lebanon from "Anjar to Awkar."
