Safavi: Iran Will Continue to Support the Resistance

Major General Sayyed Yahya Rahim Safavi, the special adviser in military affairs for the Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, stressed that "today, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has emerged as a new regional force."

Safavi said in an interview to al-Ahed news that "the Islamic Resistance, through its grand victories against the Zionist entity, achieved what no Arab country did during the course of wars to liberate Palestine."

Furthermore, the Iranian adviser and Commander of the Armed Forces indicated that "the Islamic Resistance was able to achieve victory in its wars and confrontation with the Zionist enemy."

He also added that "by standing by Syria, Iran and the Islamic Resistance had foiled the American-regional-Zionist scheme in Syria."

Major General Safavi said that "Hizbullah revolutionaries and the courageous Lebanese people are role models for all the Arabs in the region, including the Yemeni, Bahraini and Iraqi people; and that the resistance of these peoples will thwart the new American scheme in the region."

Adding to that, Safavi declared that "after the defeat of the Americans in Afghanistan as well as their occupation of Iraq, they have created the so-called "Daesh" ["ISIL"]."

He further added, "We have credible and compelling security reports that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi - head of "Daesh" terrorist group - was trained and resides in US camps."

Safavi believes that ""Daash" is the result of the US presence in Iraq; and that Washington stands behind this terrorist organization. The misdoings of the terrorist "Daesh" and al-Nusra Front as well as the Takfiri groups are identical to the Zionist massacres against innocent people."

Major General Safavi concluded that "today, Hizbullah's heroes are role models for the Muslims against falsehood; and that the Islamic Republic, in spite of the recent agreement, will continue to support and aid the oppressed as well as all resistance forces and movements in the Muslim world."
