Head of the Amal Movement political bureau Jamil Hayek said that the Lebanese opposition must make a decision on whether to participate in the upcoming Arab Summit, noting that the Syrian envoy's visit to resigned Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh came within the customs set by protocol.
"Participation in the Arab summit is in the interest of Lebanon and it will be a great political risk not to attend, especially as all Arab countries will participate in the summit," he added.
"Arabs must bear responsibilities towards Arab issues and the summit is an opportunity to resolve these matters," he continued. Hayek emphasized that the Damascus Summit was also responsible for aiding in the resolution of the Lebanese crisis.
