’Israeli’ Jets Attack Central Gaza Strip
Local Editor
"Israeli" fighter jets had conducted airstrikes against an area in the besieged Gaza Strip following a claim by the Israeli military that a rocket was fired from the Palestinian enclave toward the "Israeli" occupied Palestinian territories.
Palestinian officials had not commented on the "Israeli" claim and the airstrikes, yet.
According to reports, the targeted site was in the central part of the coastal territory.
There were no immediate reports about possible casualties or damage from the airstrikes.
The "Israeli" army claimed that the raid was carried out a few hours after a rocket fired from the Palestinian coastal sliver hit an open field in the Eshkol Regional Council in the southern part of the "Israeli" occupied territories.
No injuries or damages were reported from the alleged Palestinian rocket fire.
Last year, "Israel" launched 50 days of military attacks against the Gaza Strip. The war started in early July last year and ended on August 26, 2014 with a truce that took effect after indirect negotiations in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Nearly 2,200 Palestinians, including 577 children, were martyred in the 2014 "Israeli" onslaught. Over 11,100 others - including 3,374 children, 2,088 women and 410 elderly people - were also injured.
