Fneish: The Ruling Bloc is Politically Bankrupt
Source: NowLebanon, 19-03-2008
Resigned Minister Mohammed Fneish said that talk that the government will appoint new ministers to replace resigned Minister Yaacoub Sarraf and the late Pierre Gemayel indicates that the government is following US dictates.
"The (so-called) majority party has rejected all initiatives in order to safeguard the existence of this amputated and illegitimate government," Fneish told the Lebanese daily Sada Al-Balad.
He also noted that any decision made by an illegitimate government is illegitimate. "The opposition has options and a clear vision to confront any development," Fneish said.
He said that the opposition does not need to resort to threats and intimidations, a practice the majority uses, he added. "Their attitude reveals political bankruptcy."
Fneish also slammed the March 14 memorandum released last week and described it as a compilation of insults and accusations.
