Hizbullah International Relations Officer Nawwaf Moussawi accused the American administration of wanting to take control of "this oil-rich region" by using totalitarian regimes and 'Israel', "which expelled the Palestinian people from their land and violates their rights on a daily basis."
"We are fighting a battle to liberate our country from this domination to liberate our lands from 'Israeli' occupation," Moussawi added.
During a meeting with a delegation of students from the Department of Political Science at the University of Copenhagen, Moussawi said Hizbullah was resistant against "American dominance and 'Israeli' aggression" and had "moral, humanitarian and national duties" toward the Palestinian people. Hizbullah also resisted American hegemony and rejected a Lebanon "under the control of American tools with a
Lebanese identity."
"Hizbullah wants a culturally and religiously pluralistic Lebanon," Moussawi continued. "We want to present to the world an image which shows the possibility of different religions living together and undermines the idea of communities divided by ethnicity and sect."
Hizbullah believes that independence, sovereignty and freedom can only be achieved through a "balanced government that does not monopolize decisions," Moussawi stated, adding that the party desired a united Lebanon to face 'Israeli' aggressions on the country. "The resistance defeated superior 'Israeli' effectiveness in July (2006)... and survived 34 days in the most extreme battle fought so far in the region," he concluded.
