Vice President of the Higher Islamic Shia Council Sheik Abed al-Amir Qabalan said Lebanon is in need of "the efforts of its faithful sons" who must give in to one another and work for the salvation of Lebanon. It is imperative that all Lebanese parties reach an accord and return Lebanon to its position as a country radiating civilization, he added.
After his meeting with a delegation of Al-Jamaa Al-Islamiya, Qabalan called on the Lebanese to deepen relations with their fellow Arab brothers, who will stand at Lebanon's side in times of need, he said. "Lebanon still needs Syria and must correct relations with Syria," he continued, noting that participation in the Arab Summit served the interests of Lebanon.
