’Israeli’ Forces Demolish More Homes of Palestinians
Local Editor
"Israeli" apartheid regime forces had razed two houses belonging to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank amid weeks of unrest.
In a statement, the "Israeli" regime announced the destructions, which occurred late Friday night.
It claimed that one of the houses in the northern West Bank city of Nablus belonged to three Palestinians who allegedly killed an "Israeli" settler couple early last month.
The regime's statement added that another home it destroyed in Silwad, to the northeast of Ramallah, belonged to a Palestinian accused of killing an "Israeli" settler back in June.
The demolition of the Palestinian houses triggered more clashes between "Israeli" military forces and Palestinian protesters. Nine demonstrators suffered injuries, according to local medical sources.
The "Israeli" regime ordered the demolition of Palestinian homes as a punitive measure last month in response to a growing number of alleged attacks by Palestinians against "Israeli" settlers, who constantly waged attacks against Palestinian residents and their properties.
Tensions in the occupied territories had dramatically escalated since the "Israeli" regime's imposition of restrictions in August on the entry of Palestinian worshipers to the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds.
Palestinians are angry at increasing violence by "Israeli" settlers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and their attacks on Palestinian properties, saying that the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound.
