Lebanese newspapers on Friday stressed that the Lebanese army and security forces have played a crucial role in the year 2015, as it hit record in dismantling tens of terrorist networks that have been trying simultaneously to establish infrastructure that would serve terrorism in Lebanon. The papers also noted that the army forces foiled all their attempts in establishing an "ISIS" emirate in North Lebanon.

AS-SAFIR-- Security Forces Dismantle New Terrorist Network in North

As-Safir newspaper reported that the security apparatuses are working hard to prevent "ISIS" from carrying out its plot, adding that the security forces have been carrying out pre-emptive war which enabled it to dismantle several terrorist networks and persons who were recruited by the "ISIS" leaders in Syria.

The newspaper noted that the forces have increased monitoring and security operations, as part of a mission to pursue terrorist groups that were tasked with suicide attacks against Lebanese military and security centers.

The newspaper further said that "ISIS" had launched a campaign in which it aims at forming as many terrorist cells as possible. Quoting security sources, the Lebanese daily underscored that the latest terrorist network arrested was still recruiting young men and had not yet started to train them.

The army raided on Thursday an arms depot in the northern region of Akkar based on the confessions of a detainee who admitted to belong to "ISIS". The military announced in a statement that the weapons were seized in the Mashta Hassan area in Akkar. The depot included dozens of machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, and a number of ammunition and military gear.

AL-LIWAA -- Sayyed Nasrallah to Reconfirm Stance on "Israeli" Crime

Well-informed sources told al-Liwaa newspaper that Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will deliver a speech on the one-week anniversary of Samir al-Quntar's martyrdom, noting that his words will be even harsher towards "Israel", and that he will touch on the Saudi-Iranian relations.

"Israeli" warplanes raided a residential building in the Syrian city of Jaramana late on Saturday, killing the dean of liberated detainees from "Israeli" prisons, Samir al-Quntar.

Sources said the "Israeli" warplanes struck the building with four long-range missiles, causing complete destruction of the building and partial damage to the surrounding structures.

Hizbullah Media Relations released a statement on Sunday announcing the martyrdom of al-Quntar who spent 29 years in the "Israeli" prisons.

AL-BINAA -- Electing President Should Happen Soon: Al-Rai

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rai expressed his insistence that "electing a president should take place after signing a trust memo by all parties and that the agreement should include a just electoral law and forming a new cabinet that would in its turn prepare an election draft-law to be approved by the ministerial council," reported al-Binaa newspaper on Friday.

Sources assured that some meetings are taking place away from the spot light, adding that ongoing efforts are taking place to reach a solution soon for the deadlock.

AL-AKHBAR: National Forces Demand Change of UN Special Envoy

High-ranking political sources from Yemen told al-Akhbar newspaper that the ‘National forces delegation' has demanded the UN to change Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen due to his bias performance in the last Geneva talks on Yemen.

According to the sources, he had ignored the flexibility of the party and its positive approach and that he is being dictated by the US ambassador to Yemen, underscoring that his approach serves the interests of the US and Saudi agenda in the region.

Saudi Arabia's military attacks against impoverished Yemen, which started in late March, have so far claimed the lives of more than 7,500 people and injured over 14,000 others.
