News on the repercussions of Saudi Arabia's crime of executing Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr made the headlines on Monday, as dailies wondered what impact it will have on the Lebanese arena and on the ongoing presidential impasse.

DAILY SCOPE: Saudi Arabia Mother of Terrorism

Lebanese dailies also analyzed the speech of Hizbullah chief Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, highlighting the new literature used in approaching the matter as Nasrallah entitled Saudi Arabia as the mother of terrorist movements in the region. Papers also touched on the different regional files including Syria and Yemen.

AS-SAFIR-Presidential Elections More Complex after Saudi Crime

Lebanon entered the new year expecting to see a president soon as sources had reported before the holidays, but the situation in the region is becoming more complex especially after Saudi Arabia's killing of Sheikh Nimr; a move deemed as severe violation of human rights.

High-ranking sources in the March 8 camp told As-Safir Lebanese newspaper on Monday that the unrest in the region and the increasing tensions will definitely reflect on the Lebanese arena and increase the complexity of the presidential impasse that has been lingering without solutions for more than one year.

The sources pointed out that "the prevailing atmosphere following the execution of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr in Saudi Arabia does not allow settlements to take place," adding "it is very difficult for Lebanon to distant itself from the hot regional developments."

As-Safir described Saudi Arabia's presence in Lebanon as direct, expressing fears that Lebanon might be the first to mirror the regional tension.

The sources further expressed worries that the first regional settlement to ‘fall victim' to the crime of murdering Sheikh Nimr and reach a dead end would be the initiative made by Head of the Future party Saad Hariri [in which he nominated head of the Marada party Suleiman Franjieh as a candidate for presidency].

On another note, As-Safir said that dialogue between the two major political parties of the rival camps in Lebanon, the Future party and Hizbullah will resume by next week.

The dialogue will not be halted because of the crime Saudi Arabia has committed by killing Sheikh Nimr, but will witness slow pace and might not be productive on the different levels, sources told As-Safir.

Lebanon has been without a president since May 2014 when the term of Michel Suleiman ended without the election of a successor.

AL-BINAA-- No More Handling Saudi Arabia with Gloves

The phase of handling Saudi Arabia with gloves has come to an end, said al-Binaa newspaper. It underscored that "no one was misled to think that Saudi Arabia would actually enter dialogue or negotiations," noting that "the regime's execution of Sheikh Nimr comes as a clear and loud message from Saudi Arabia to all those who had wagered on dialogue or bridging between the oil-rich country and the rest of the region."

Al-Binaa described Sayed Nasrallah's speech as a part of new literature that has never been used before and a new phase of harsh confrontation, saying that his speech was crucial as he took of his gloves, set compliiemts aside and said it crystal clear; that terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda, ISIL and al-Nusra Front were the product of the ‘Wahhabi Saud family'.

In a speech during a Hizbullah ceremony on Sunday, Sayed Nasrallah said that in the Arabian Peninsula a state was established and falsely named Saudi Arabia, noting that it is the land of the Two Holy Mosques, Islam, the Prophet and His Household and that the Saud dynasty, as history documents show, imposed itself on it via massacres, intimidation and terrorism.

Sayed Nasrallah asserted that the execution of Sheikh Nimr highlights Al Saud's terrorist arrogance and insistence on murdering all who speak out truth and right.

He wondered whether it is high time to say that the terrorist groups are mere agents funded and supported by the Saudi regime, explaining that "ISIS" and Saudi use similar books in their religious curricula.

AL-AKHBAR-Syrian Army Making More Advances, Cutting Supply Lines Feeding Terrorists

The Syrian army seems to have the upper hand in the battles in Hama outskirts, where the army and its allies liberated ten towns within four days.

Military field sources told al-Akhbar newspaper that the operations conducted by the Syrian army connected the outskirts of Hama to the administrative borders of Northern Aleppo, by that encircling the terrorist groups and keeping a tight grip around them.

According to the source, the Syrian army took the armed groups by surprise, and succeeded in cutting supply lines from southern and eastern Aleppo that were feeding the terrorist groups.

Meanwhile in Latakia, the terrorist groups failed in their attempt to take control over Qasab town and its strategic mountain, sources told the paper. The sources went on to say that "the Syrian army now has full control over Qasab and its surroundings and the operations are ongoing to retrieve the hills leading to the strategic Sukariyeh town near the Turkish borders.

The ground gains come as the Syrian Army air force has been carrying out raids on terrorist groups targeting their positions, hotbeds and hideouts in many areas across the country, eliminating a number of their members and destroying their weapons, ammunition and vehicles.
