Hizbullah Media Source: We reject placing responsibility on the opposition for obstructing solutions by Saudi Arabia and
01-04-2008
In a comment on the recent remarks by Saudi Foreign Minister Saud Faisal, a media source in Hizbullah declared the following: "Hizbullah, being a constituent of the Lebanese National Opposition, welcomes any effort or initiative aimed to solve the political crisis in Lebanon and considers that the fundamental condition for any initiative to succeed is not to be biased to any party engaged in the crisis.
In this regard, Hizbullah rejects Minister Saud Faisal's position that holds the opposition in Lebanon responsible of obstructing solutions, thus overlooking and pretending to have forgotten what the ruling bloc has done in terms of hindering Arab initiatives in their successive phases, especially the continuous Saudi efforts.
The media source added that such accusation to the opposition harms the role of Saudi Arabia and raises many questions about its position as well as its role in the current Lebanese crisis. It also puts the Kingdom in the position of the biased state that is incapable of playing a positive role in the solution.
