Arslan hails summit as historic turning point
Source: NowLebanon, 03-04-2008
President of the Lebanese Democratic Party Talal Arslan defined the 20th Arab Summit, hosted last weekend in Damascus, as a "historic turning point" and a magnet for Arab youth. "As Lebanese, we must learn the moral of the story from the mere convening of the summit and the quality of presence therein."
In a press conference in Khaldeh, Arslan said the government's use of international and regional powers was an "ignorant move" which would bring "nothing but disasters for Lebanon."
"Lebanon cannot tolerate any more trials. It needs stability, and there is no stability outside of constitutional legitimacy," Arslan added.
