At least one Palestinian was martyred and three others were wounded in an "Israeli" airstrike on the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

"Israeli" warplane targeted a site allegedly belonging to Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the town of Beit Lahiya on Wednesday.

In parallel, Zionist troops raided Beit Lahiya, threatening the residents to leave the town.

For their part, witnesses reported that "Israeli" military vehicles and bulldozers crossed the border fence into the strip around 7 am east of Beit Lahiya before leveling lands on the Palestinian side of the border.

However, "Israeli" sources claimed that the occupation forces targeted an alleged "terrorist cell planning to detonate an explosive device against "Israeli" forces" stationed on the borderline.

In another development the same day, Palestinian media reported that the "Israeli" regime force-fed Palestinian prisoner Muhammad al-Qeq, who had been on a hunger strike since November 24 last year.

Reports said that the staff of the "Israeli" Afula hospital tied the inmate's hands and feet and injected him with a serum.

Relatively, the Gaza Strip has been under a crippling "Israeli" siege since 2007. The blockade, which cut off the territory from the outside world, led to an economic and humanitarian crisis in the densely-populated enclave.

Furthermore, the "Israeli" occupation forces also waged three wars on Gaza since 2008, including a devastating 50-day aggression in 2014. The offensive began in early July 2014 and ended on August 26.
