Abu Zeinab A military adventure against Lebanon will end the existence of "Israel"
Source: Daily Star, 09-04-2008
Hizbullah politburo member Ghaleb Abu Zeinab said earlier that the 'Israeli' military maneuvering cannot change anything in the present balance of power in the region and cannot eliminate the resistance.
"The ‘Israeli' enemy does not have enough political power to take a decision to attack Lebanon, and it is aware of the resistance's readiness," Abu Zeinab said.
"The enemy knows that any military adventure against Lebanon will lead to the end of its existence and that of its army," he added.
On the country's political woes, Abu Zeinab said the ruling party bears responsibility for blocking any solution to Lebanon's crisis because it is following US orders.
Abu Zeinab said on Wednesday that the political situation in Lebanon was "stagnant." "As soon as an initiative is launched to achieve a breakthrough, it is met by rejection from all sides. The latest was Prime Minister Fouad Siniora's statement against Speaker Nabih Berri's call for dialogue," Abu Zeinab said. He also said that the crisis in Lebanon is far from being restricted to the debate over the guaranteeing one-third vote or the electoral law. "The problem is over some sides' betting on foreign powers and the continuation of the vacuum as the only way to win the battle," Abu Zeinab said.
