Resigned Minister Salloukh: Foregoing dialogue will prolong the crisis
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 11-04-2008
Resigned Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh said that missing the opportunity to dialogue will prolong the crisis until everyone is convinced that it is the only way to find a solution.
He also noted that an improvement in inter-Arab relations - especially between Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Syria - will have a positive impact on Lebanon.
"The Arab initiative is the only framework for a solution in Lebanon, yet its success depends on a dialogue between the Lebanese," Salloukh told ANB Television.
Commenting on the case of Zuheir Al-Saddiq, the Hariri murder witness who went missing from his French home, and whether or not the Lebanese Foreign Ministry will demand cooperation from France, Salloukh said it is the Justice Ministry's job to pursue the matter, and that he has not received word from the ministry yet.
