1948 Arab parties in the "Israeli"-annexed Palestinian territories slammed Monday the decision of the Gulf Cooperation Council [GCC] to label Hizbullah as a terrorist organization.

1948 Arab-Palestinian Parties Condemn Gulf Labeling of Hizbullah as ’Terror Group’

"Hizbullah fights against "Israeli" attacks on Lebanon, and this decision only serves the interests of "Israel" and the US," a spokesperson of one of the 1948 Arab-Palestinian parties said.

Officials in the party explained that they view the decision by the interior ministers of the GCC as dangerous because they are fueling the Sunni-Shia conflict, and, as they put it, adding fuel to the fire of this bloody conflict.

Furthermore, the party officials claimed, the decision serves to widen the sectarian divisions in Lebanon, Syria, and the wider Arab world.

They also said that "the party doesn't believe that it is correct to tag Hizbullah - an organization which represents a large part of the Lebanese nation - as a terrorist organization..."

Accordingly, the GCC officially decided to label Hizbullah as a terrorist organization last Wednesday.

The gulf countries had warned in the past of their intentions to brand Hizbullah a terror organization, but the decision to do so now will give them more freedom of operation vis-à-vis Hizbullah, and they will be able to operate against them more aggressively than before.

For his part, "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by asking how they would respond when Hizbullah fires rockets at their communities.

The 1948 Arab-Palestinian parties' statement was attacked with great opposition and condemnation among the "Israeli" apartheid regime's Knesset accusing the Joint Arab List of not only representing the most extreme fringes of 1984 Arab Palestinian society in the "Israeli" occupied Palestinian territories, "but also the most extreme fringes of Arab society in general".

Other members of the Knesset accused the 1948 Arab-Palestinian parties of treason and called Ayman Odeh and Jamal Zahalka as "traitors" who should join Azmi Bishara in Qatar or Syria.
