Bassil: Why did Geagea get defensive?

FPM Political Relations Officer Gebran Bassil said that neither the FPM nor MP Michel Aoun accused anyone of being responsible for the alleged mass grave that is rumored to be located under the Halat Highway in Jbeil.
"If someone thinks that we accused him of this, it is because he is aware of the Lebanese collective memory that automatically recalls certain parties' actions" during the 15-year civil war, Bassil told NOW Lebanon, referring to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea's accusation that MP Michel Aoun is spreading rumors.
Bassil said, "Those who are concerned think we are accusing them," asking why Geagea was being defensive.
"Why did they panic? All Lebanese, and especially the residents of Halat know that there are mass graves in the region. Others must make efforts with us to close this dossier once and for all," he added.
Bassil said that he is not trying to accuse anyone, but to pursue the truth and discover the fate of those who went missing during the war, "and the people who dug these graves are well known."
