SSNP accuses government of executing American policy
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 16-04-2008
The Syrian Social Nationalist Party said US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's statement on the need to keep the status quo in Lebanon as it is was a sign of the "explicit acknowledgment of the American administration's responsible for the aggravation of the Lebanese crisis."
The SSNP condemned some parties' defense of "this blatant American intervention in the affairs of Lebanon, as though to them this was not a violation of the simplest meanings of sovereignty and independence."
The SSNP also accused the ruling team of rejecting all initiatives and attacking Speaker Nabih Berri for his efforts, which the party said was "a translation of the dependence on American policy."
The SSNP called on the opposition to "rapidly move towards some members of the UN Security Council, especially Russia and China," and incite them to "play a role to put an end to American arrogance."
"The presidential statement issued by the international Security Council on Resolution 1701 falls in a campaign of disinformation and distortion led by the American administration and its allies," the party added.
