Syrian Army Repels Attack in South, Kills More Terrorists in North

A Syrian army unit thwarted an attack by terrorist groups affiliated to al-Nusra Front on military posts on the outskirts of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area in the southern Daraa province.
In this regard, a military source said in a statement that an army unit clashed with terrorist groups linked to al-Nusra that attacked a number of military posts in the western and southern sides of al-Manshiyeh neighborhood.
During the clashes, a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured, in addition to destroying a bulldozer which the terrorists used as a moving shield and to make sand barriers to protect their fortified points in the area.
Separately, army units destroyed gatherings and vehicles for terrorists of Daesh [the Arabic acronym for the terrorist "ISIS" group] and al-Nusra Front in the northern city of Aleppo and its countryside on Sunday.
According to military sources reporting recent updates, Syrian Arab Army units conducted, during the past hours, intensive operations against dens and supply routes for al-Nusra-linked terrorist groups in Hanadarat camp and Sheqeif Farms in northern Aleppo, inflicting losses upon terrorists in personnel, weaponry and destroying many weapon-loaded and machinegun- equipped vehicles.
Besides, in cooperation with supporting forces, the army continued operations and destroyed positions and vehicles of al-Nusra to the west of Khan Touman town and the two villages of al-‘Iss and al-Bawabia in the southern countryside of the province.
In a related context, the Syrian air force conducted intensive strikes against Daesh positions and vehicles in the southwestern countryside of Palmyra in Homs province.
The strikes resulted in inflicting heavy losses upon the group's terrorists and destroying their mid and heavy-machinegun equipped vehicles in the vicinity of the al-Hayr al-Gharbi Palace, which they use as caches for munitions and stolen artifacts from Palmyra.
