Qaouk: US support to the ruling bloc targets the Resistance
Source: Nowlebanon.com, 22-04-2008
Hizbullah Official Sheik Nabil Qaouk accused the US and its followers in the Arab World and the international community of targeting the Resistance.
"They are continuing the plot they have started in 1996 and 2006," Qaouk said while referring at the 'Israeli' military operations "Grape of Wrath" in 1996 and the July war in 2006.
"The confrontation is still the same, though it is today on the political level, and the objectives are still the same," Qaouk said.
He also noted that the dispute over the electoral law is part of this political confrontation. "The US and its allies are supporting an electoral law that constitutes the path for the majority toward blockading the Resistance and stabbing it in the back," he added.
Qaouk said that the opposition wants the electoral law to be the first step toward reproducing the authority in Lebanon and setting straight the political course in order to strengthen national partnership and to protect the Resistance and bring down the US tutelage over the country.
