Mottaki calls for 10-10-10 government formula

In an interview with the Kuwaiti Al-Rai newspaper, Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki said Lebanese unity was essential to a fair solution for the Lebanese presidential vacuum and government formation. Mottaki said the Arab initiative and the regional exchange of views on the Lebanese crisis should help the Lebanese pro-government and opposition viewpoints converge.
"All efforts so far were unsuccessful because they did not take into account all the dimensions of the Lebanese issue," he added.
Mottaki said the 10-10-10 power-sharing formula in the formation of the Lebanese government was would facilitate a solution to the political crisis. "The election of a president is easier than forming the government," he noted.
Mottaki also denied Tehran's involvement in the investigation of the death of Hizbullah operative Imad Mognieh.
