8 Martyred, 13 Injured in Twin Terrorist Blasts in Damascus

A car bomb and an attacker wearing an explosive vest hit an area in the vicinity of the holy shrine of Sayyida Zeinab (PBUH) on the suburbs of the Syrian capital, with reports of casualties.
The death toll from the twin terrorist blasts rose to 8, 13 others injured.
Earlier reports indicated two martyred and several others injured in two terrorist blasts that hit Sayyida Zainab region in Damascus countryside on Saturday, SANA reporter said.
The first blast occurred by a suicidal who blew up a belt at the entrance of Sayidah Zainab town while the second was by a booby-trapped car at al-Tin Street in al-Diyabia town.
The Sayyida Zeinab area has been a frequent target of suicide and car bombings in the Syrian war, now in its sixth year.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility but Daesh [Arabic acronym for "ISIS" / "ISIL"] Takfiri group had hit the area at least three times this year, killing or injuring scores of people.

He noted that such coward terrorist acts, which destabilize these areas in a bid to boost the morale of the armed terrorist organizations due to the accelerated victories of the Syrian army on all fronts in parallel with the misleading and flagrant media war, are trying to undermine the Syrian state.
Al-Halqi held the terrorism sponsors, particularly Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, responsible for such brutal massacres, demanding the international community to shoulder the humanitarian, moral and legal responsibility towards these inhuman perpetrations and put an end to the states which back and finance terrorism.
He further said that the Syrian people will not be frightened and such terrorist acts will increase their steadfastness and determination to achieve victory and defeat terrorism, he said.
Accordingly, the Premier extended condolences to the martyrs' families and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
