Speaking to Al-Manar TV, Rafi Madayan, the son of martyr Hawi, revealed that the new data has focused on the International Independent Investigation Commission (IIIC) bursting into the house of a Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) loyal in Wata Al-Mossaitbe in Beirut. The latter had been detained for ten days and then released after suing him for submitting a false testimony over Hawi's assassination. Madayan put this act in the framework of the new investigation rules drawn by the new IIIC head judge Daniel Bellemare. "I used to see this individual every day on the sidewalk near my parent's house. he used to spend the night smoking hubble-bubble near my father's car until 2:00 or 3:00 am," Madayan said.
He raised many questions to concerned bodies and accused the Lebanese Judiciary as well as official security services of negligence. "I'm very concerned that there might be attempts to cover for the real killer. Investigations with collaborator with 'Israel' Rafea Rafea, who was a member in the PSP, have led to this new data. Jumblatt has a moral obligation towards martyr Hawi and tell us what he knows," Madayan said.
The information Madayan talked about comes one day after Kuwaiti electronic daily Al-Diwan revealed that Walid Jumblatt played a role in the assassination of the Lebanese journalist Samir Kassir. FBI revelations say that the bomb used to assassinate Kassir was of the same type used to assassinate Hawi. They both contain 'RDX" and weigh 450 grams. The bomb can be detonated with a remote control from a distance of 150 meters.
